A sofa is a ten-year purchase. Most people buy it like a two-year one.
The photograph is the easy part — every sofa looks good in a styled room shot. What separates one you still like in year eight from one you're apologising for by year two is the frame, the foam, and whether it was built for your room or for an average one.

A sleeper that's actually a bed
The mechanism is built into the frame with a genuine mattress — not the thin pad over a metal bar that people remember from old sofa beds. Guests notice the difference immediately.
Storage where you need it
Most configurations hide storage under the seat for the duvet and pillows, so the guest bed doesn't come with a closet problem attached.

A well-built sofa isn't cheap. Spread across the years you'll actually use it — the right size for the room, in a fabric that survives the dog and still looks right — it's usually the better buy. We'd rather say that plainly than have you learn it the expensive way.

How long does a custom sofa take?
Made-to-order upholstery typically takes around [[CONFIRM: e.g. 8–12]] weeks. Nordholtz also runs a Quickship programme on selected configurations, which is considerably faster — ask us which models are on it.
What do custom sofas cost?

Where is the furniture made?
Our custom upholstery is designed and manufactured in the European Union. We are the largest authorized Nordholtz dealer in the United States.
We also carry IVG Home Collections and the Giorgio Collection — Italian lines at a higher price point. Worth knowing: Giorgio is not a custom programme. Those pieces come as specified rather than built to your dimensions, so if configuring the size and layout matters to you, the European upholstery lines are where to look.
Will it fit through my door?
Bring your room dimensions and your doorway and stair measurements. This is the single most common problem with large sectionals, and it's far easier to solve before the order than after.
Are the fabrics good with pets and children?
Yes — pet-friendly, stain-resistant and scratch-resistant fabrics are available across much of the range. Tell us how the room actually gets used and we'll steer you to the right ones.
Do you deliver and set up?
Yes. White glove delivery includes in-home placement, full assembly and removal of all packaging materials.
Why are you closed on Sunday?
Bergen County's blue law prohibits Sunday furniture retail. Every furniture store in the county is closed. We're open Monday through Saturday, 10AM to 8PM.
