How it works
Three choices. Yours, not ours.
A custom table isn't a longer version of a store table. You start from an empty spec sheet and fill it in, and the three decisions below are the ones that matter. Everything after them is detail.
Choose the top
Shape and size first — rectangle, round, square or oval, in the length your room actually takes rather than the length that happened to be manufactured. Then the edge profile and the thickness, and extension leaves if you host.
Choose the base
Four legs, a trestle, a single pedestal or a double. This is the decision people skip and then regret, because the base is what decides whether anyone can sit at the ends and whose knees hit what.
Choose the wood & finish
Solid hardwood, stained to the shade you want. Species and finishes vary by collection, so we pull the actual samples and put them next to each other — wood is the last thing anyone should judge off a screen.

Handcrafted in North America for more than forty years, and known for dining above everything else. Tables, chairs, stools, benches, buffets and kitchen islands across eight collections — Accent, Canadel, Champlain, Downtown, Gourmet, Loft, Modern and Signature. Their UDesign program configures a set piece by piece.
Country View Woodworking
Amish-built solid wood. The dining range runs Leg, Designer, Elite and Trestle through Single and Double Pedestal, Live Edge and the Salt Creek thick-top series — including the extendable live-edge Telluride shown above. You pick the table, the top shape, the edge profile and the base, then keep going from there.
Chairs, benches and storage
Seating is chosen separately from the table, not bundled with it. Match the chairs, run a bench down one side, add a buffet or a kitchen island in the same wood and finish — or deliberately don't, and let the table stand on its own.

What we specialise in
The dining table is the one piece of furniture that has to survive daily life.
It takes homework, hot pans, laptops, glitter and thirty Thanksgivings. Most tables sold today are built to survive the photograph and the shipping box, which are much easier tests.
Here is the difference, stated plainly, because it's the whole reason a custom table costs what it does.

Sized to the room
The usual mistake is a table that fits the floor but not the room. Allow roughly three feet of clear space on every side so chairs pull out and people walk behind them. Bring the room measurements and we'll work backwards to the table.
Leaves that actually fit
Extension leaves are cut from the same boards as the top, so the grain and colour carry across instead of announcing themselves. Decide up front how many you want — adding them later means matching wood that has already aged.
One finish across the room
Table, chairs, bench and buffet can be ordered in a single finish from a single maker, which is the thing you cannot do by buying pieces from four different websites and hoping.
All of it is easier to settle in ten minutes at the showroom than in an afternoon of browsing.

What the wood really looks like
Grain and colour vary from board to board in the same species with the same stain — that's what makes it wood. Photographs flatten all of it, and monitors shift the colour on top.
Whether the size is right
Sixty inches sounds like a number until you stand at one. We'll mark it out, seat you at it, and you'll know within a minute whether it's the right table for the room you just left.
How the chairs feel
You'll sit in these chairs several thousand times. Seat height, back angle and arm width decide whether dinner runs twenty minutes or two hours, and none of the three survive a product photo.

Straight answers
How long does a custom dining set take?
It's built after you order it, so there's a wait — that's the trade for getting exactly what you chose. Lead times move with the maker and the season, so we confirm the current one in writing when you place the order rather than quoting you a number off a website.
What does a custom table cost?
It depends on the wood, the size, the base and the finish, which is an honest answer rather than an evasive one — the same table in two species is two different prices. Tell us the room and roughly what you want to spend, and we'll show you what that buys before you commit to anything.
Can I order it online?
No, and we'd rather say so plainly. A custom table is a stack of decisions about wood, size and finish, and every one of them goes wrong on a screen. Come in once, settle the choices with the samples in front of you, and we'll place the order from there.
Can you match a table to chairs or stools I already own?
Often, yes. Bring a photo and, if you can, a drawer front or a small piece of the existing wood. Matching a stain to a finish that has already aged in daylight is easier with the real thing in hand than with a description.
What size table fits my room?
Start with the room, not the table. As a rule of thumb, leave about three feet of clear space on every side so chairs pull out and people can walk behind them — then whatever is left is your table. Bring measurements and we'll do that arithmetic with you.
Do you deliver and assemble?
Yes — white glove delivery. The table is brought in, assembled, set where you want it, and the packaging leaves with us. You don't end up with a pile of cardboard in the driveway.
Why are you closed on Sunday?
Bergen County blue laws. Every furniture store in the county is closed on Sunday — it isn't our choice, and it's why Saturday gets busy. If Saturday is your only day, call ahead and we'll make sure someone is free for you.
